Indulge in the warm flavors of fall with these caramel apple slice bars, featuring a buttery crust, spiced apple filling, rich caramel topping, and a crumbly streusel finish.


Ingredients

• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
• 4 cups thinly sliced apples (about 4-5 medium apples)
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
• 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
• 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)


Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
2️⃣ Combine 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of softened butter in a medium bowl and mix until crumbly.
3️⃣ Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and bake for 15 minutes.
4️⃣ In a large bowl, combine 4 cups of sliced apples, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss to coat and spread evenly over the crust.
5️⃣ Drizzle 1 cup of caramel sauce over the apple mixture and sprinkle with chopped pecans, if using.
6️⃣ In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of softened butter to make a crumbly streusel topping.
7️⃣ Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the apples and caramel.
8️⃣ Bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
9️⃣ Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving. Enjoy
